Welcome back to school! We have a full week ahead of us, so we are going to work on getting back into a routine this week:) Just a couple small things going on this week. The strategy classes are holding an Angel Tree breakfast this Friday for students. Cost is $3. Spelling bee handouts are also going out this week. The 6th grade spelling bee is being held January 8th, and the school-wide spelling bee will be held January 13th.
Weekly Plan:
Language Arts
Monday: Started Pronouns pg. 8 in grammar, Writing good examples for essays on page 16 in writing section in notebook. *At home reading log and Constructed Response 5 due Tuesday
Tuesday: Pronouns work with whiteboards, Adding transitions in essay
Wednesday: More pronouns work with whiteboards, Revising strategies in writing, start peer editing children's lives essay.
Thursday: Pronouns worksheet, finish peer editing, essays due Friday.
Friday: Wildside Friday on grizzly bears, finish essays.
*Reading Workshop: Continuing content conferences and starting a second reading habits conference. Students talk about where and when they read at school and at home, what kinds of books they are reading, and where they are getting their recommendations from.
Science
Monday: Read pg.146-150 in physical science textbook, filled in notes page 28. Energy worksheet due tomorrow
Tuesday: Reflection on page 29 over kinetic and potential energy
Wednesday: Types of Kinetic energy page 30 in notebook
Thursday: page 31 reflection
Friday: 5.2 work with types of Kinetic energy
